Save Our Trees

The City of Winnipeg is failing in its commitment to replant one million trees.

We are losing our majestic tree canopy that makes our city beautiful. Trees aren’t just there to look good – they help maintain cool streets in extreme heat, limit flooding and provide a habitat for urban wildlife.

We need to plan now for the city we want to live in. The city has to double the arboreal budget to meet the Mayor’s tree goal by 2040. Dutch elm disease is out of our control yet the response by the city is minimal. Budget cuts and neglect created this problem; Now’s the time to do something about it.
